First of all thank you guys for your nice words on my last post. I am feeling so much better lately, all of your support was amazing. On a happier not I am right now waiting for my last class of the week. Which is great because it is supposed to just keep getting colder (Right now it is -7, feels like -38). I keep asking myself why I didn't go to college somewhere warmer! As a pre-story to this post you should all know that there is nothing "living" in my room, we don't have plants or fish because me nor my roommate want to deal with keeping something alive. But I love flowers so this happened...
I made us some adorable pom-pom flowers! They are so easy and fun I can hardly stand it. I got a pom pom maker for Christmas and I went a little crazy. I used all of my handspun scraps that didn't get plied and even left overs from projects that I knit over a year ago. Then you just glue them to a stick and TADA! Adorable flowers that I don't have to keep alive.
They really are one of the cutest and easiest things I have made in a really long time. And every time I see them I just perk up a little bit. If you guys want I can post a tutorial on how I made them. They really are a piece of cake! Well I hope you guys are all staying nice and toasty and have a great rest of your week!!!
What a great way to use up handspun scraps!! I would love to see a tutorial on making such adorable pompom flowers. :)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful way to brighten any room!
ReplyDeleteThis is SUCH a great idea! I have a pompom maker but will always avoid any clothing with pompoms as a general rule. However, I'm definitely going to give this a try. Are the sticks real sticks or like those florist bouquet supports?
ReplyDeleteSuper cute flowers! Great idea.
