I don't like watching biking, and never have even watched the Tour de France. And yet I have been looking forward too it for months now... why you may ask? Tour de Fleece I am so excited that this year I will be able to participate. It is crazy to think that this time last year I had just learned to knit and had no idea that you could spin your own yarn. So I thought I would let you have a glimpse into my supplies and my goals for the coming month.
So there it is, all my fiber and all three of my spindles. The newest spindle and fiber I got from a local fiber and yarn shop, BeeLighted Fiber and Gifts in Zumbrota. The shop is amazing and they are all so helpful about fibers that they recommend. It was a great experience getting to go there because I had never met any other spinners. I also swung by Nancy's spinning studio, she let me take a whirl on her lady bug and I am completely in love, while that is slightly out of my reach I have started saving up for her other beginner spinning wheel.
That is all the fiber I got at her store it is all so gorgeous I don't even know where to start. I will go through all of it in detail tomorrow! So I figured I needed goals for this fun event and here they are;
1. I want to actually spin every single day, I sometimes get to caught up in life that I lose the hobbies I love so much. Weeks go by and suddenly I realize I have not knitted or spin in so long.
2. I want to challenge myself. I have tencil roving and I am going to spin with it this week. I also want to try and spin art yarn.
3. I want to give up the idea that it all has to be perfect. I often find myself not enjoying what I do because I want it to be perfect or just as good as someone else and I want to leave that part of me behind.
So there are my three major goals, good luck to all of you knitting and spinning, let's get this race going!
XO
Zoey
