Spring Fever

It is 71 degrees here today, yup it is the middle of March. This is completely crazy, last year at this time we were still trekking through mountains of snow! This past weekend though was horrible rainy and drab, I bet you will never guess what I did. I dyed some yarn! This time around I used food coloring and egg dye. Though I was a total blonde and tried to dye cotton yarn (yes I know the horror, how can I be so naive!) Other then that though all of my yarn turned out amazing!

Have to admit thought the smell of vinegar almost made me sick at times, it gets so much worse when it gets warm. I feel like someone should tell you about before you start dying. I am so sad about the cotton yarn not working because I used the egg dye on those. The color didn't completely wash out so I will snap some pictures later.

I had some pretty high-tech drying techniques, after a day in the shower they still weren't dry so I stuck them outside. My sister thought I was crazy at first but now she has laid claim to almost all the yarn I dyed. I think if she had it her way everything I ever knit would be hers. Silly siblings.  I hope you all are having as wonderful time as I am with this nice weather!
