Kool Kids

So first of all I hope you all are having a wonderful March! This means I only have three months left of high school! It is pure and total craziness going on! Part of me is so excited to finally be done with high school, while another part of me is scared of what comes next. My mom keeps telling me to calm down, but still I just can't help thinking of worse case endings. Hopefully none of that will happen.

On a wonderful and happy note I dyed my first yarn the other day. I got the original hand-spun from a lovely women. The color was just not something I could see myself using so I took the jump and dyed it with some grape kool-aid. First of all it smelled wonderful, I mean grape kool-aid always smells amazing so getting to work with it for a reason rocked.

I probably watched ten youtube videos on how to dye yarn because I was so scared of messing it all up. First you bring the water and kool-aid packet up to a simmer in a pan (And try not to shove your face in the yummyness) Then drop the yarn in and stare at it until all the color in the water is gone. It only took me about twenty minutes to do the whole part, but I cranked my heat up and once it started simmering turned it down. I am not sure you are supposed to do that... oh well! Then you rinse it in the sink and hang it to dry.

Then tada! New blue-purple yarn that still smells like grape deliciousness. I simply can not wait to knit with this gorgeous yarn, I must work on that tiny wrap first though!

Happy March 4th everyone, and go have yourself some kool-aid!
