So I knit this hat way back in October but just never took the pictures of it. It is just a simple slouchy hat with a cute pom pom on the back. Seeing this pom pom you can see why my sister got me a pom pom maker!
Nothing too out there or amazing. I forgot to mention above that this was yarn I dyed myself. I learned that I did not get all of the dye out when I rinsed it out after dying it. My wooden needles turned red... and so did my fingers! I love wearing this hat around campus (mainly since it's been like -20 here) Well I hope you guys all have an amazing week!!!!

A Day of Dying
I actually dyed all of this before I came back to college. But with everything that happened with my laptop I never really got a chance to show you it all. All of these were dyed with food coloring.
Okay so first of is this lovely llama fiber I bought from a friend's grandma, it started out that brown color you see on the left. I let it sit forever in a pot with some red food coloring and it came out the lovely burgundy color. I still have a ton of the brown left to dye but I can't wait. I think I will stick with red though because I don't imagine any other color looking that nice over it.
I honestly don't know what to say about this one. My caps were mixed up and what was supposed to be bright green and a tiny bit purple turned into this mess. I just am not feeling it.
Finally are these little cuties, I realized that I have a drum carder but nothing to really card through it! So I took some left over plain wool roving and dyed it an odd group of colors. Next time I go home I will start playing with these and hopefully will have some more stuff to add it!
That is it for today, I hope you are all staying warm and are having a wonderful day!

First FO Of The Year
With the weather edging on bitterly cold here in Minnesota I decided to knit myself something warm and cozy! It is just a simple garter stitch headband with an added flower.
I love quick little projects like this that make me feel like I am really getting something done! I knit the headband and flower all while watching Thor for the first time on netflix! (Seriously why did I wait so long to see that movie? Thor shirtless? Perfection.)
It was actually knit from my hand dyed, hand spun yarn! This is actually my first project knit from any of my hand spun. Much like watching floor I have no idea why I waited so long to knit with my own yarn. It is crazy to think that almost every step of the way I was working with the fiber for this headband. I have a ton of odds and ends of hand spun that may end up being made into these headbands. Check out my Ravelry page for more details on the headband and the pattern I used for the flower.
